The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the planning and delivery of the Victorian Government's multibillion-dollar health infrastructure program including $;billion in managed assets and $ billion in planning and delivery.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Program Delivery the primary purpose of the Principal Project Manager role is the management and implementation of a range of Capital Projects and leading/developing internal project management teams and external multi-disciplinary consultant teams, focussed on high performance, accountability and project excellence. The role also leads the integration of project requirements including; engineering, cost, constructability, land planning and environment, communications and stakeholder relations.
The role would confidently represent the Department with contractors and negotiate with them as well as resolve complex issues through a process of consultation and negotiation with key stakeholders. Authoritative expert advice and technical report are likely to be required. The role also has a focus on stakeholder issues and influencing their views.

Key accountabilities
The primary purpose of this role is to provide support to the Executive Director, Program Delivery and multi-disciplinary Project teams to deliver a range of capital projects. The role will be responsible for team leadership, project administration, supporting delivery of project planning, managing client relationships, engagement and management of consultants, project budget and delivery, project cash flow and forecasting and performance reporting across one or more Projects, with the key Projects being:
Early Parenting Centres program
The $148 million early parenting centres expansion and upgrade program will more than triple the number of early parenting centres (EPCs) in Victoria. This will provide support to more than 5,000 extra families each year.
The early parenting centres expansion and upgrade program will upgrade and expand facilities at existing EPCs in Footscray and Noble Park. It will also build and establish eight new EPCs in the growing metropolitan and regional areas.
Maryborough Hospital Redevelopment
The Victorian Government is investing $115 million to redevelop and expand the Maryborough and District Hospital. The state-of-the-art redevelopment will deliver a new urgent care centre, a 32-bed inpatient unit, two operating theatres and recovery spaces, and a day medical centre with imaging and pathology services. The redevelopment will also add new birthing suites ensuring more women can give birth in Maryborough, closer to their family and loved ones. When complete, the Maryborough and District Hospital will be able to treat an additional 4,000 patients every year.
The PSRACs program includes a $495 million investment in Melbourne and Regional Victoria locations, Kingston Centre, Rutherglen, Camperdown, Mansfield, Orbost, Maffra, Numurkah and Cohuna. This program provides much needed aged care facilities for Melbourne and Regional Victorian residents.
Werribee Mercy Hospital Emergency Department
The Victorian Government is investing $ million to expand the emergency department at the Werribee Mercy Hospital.
The expanded emergency department will be able to treat an extra 25,000 patients each year. This will double current capacity once complete in late 2025.
The expansion will increase treatment spaces at the Werribee Mercy Hospital from 33 to 67. This includes four new resuscitation bays, 16 short stay beds and 36 emergency care cubicles to care for a rapidly growing population. The project is expected to create and sustain more than 300 construction industry jobs.
Bendigo Hospital Day Rehabilitation Centre
The Victorian Government is investing $ million to construct the Bendigo Hospital Day Rehabilitation Centre. Operated by Bendigo Health, the new centre will consolidate rehabilitation services into one new location and provide a holistic approach to deliver patient-centred care.

Qualifications
9. An appropriate tertiary qualification in architecture, building, engineering or equivalent experience.
