School Improvement Project Support Officer
This is a full-time, fixed-term role from 21/07/2025 - 24/07/2026, based in either Benalla or Wodonga.

Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Area Directorate, Ovens Murray Area, North East Victoria Region, SRS.
About the Role
The purpose of the School Improvement Project Support Officer role is to provide administrative and project support services to Area staff. The School Improvement Project Support Officer role, under the direction of the Executive Director, Area, will work closely with other staff performing administrative functions and in liaison with the Area Administrative staff.
The role is critical to the effective operations of the Area. It will involve periods of sustained independent work, as well as frequent and varied contact with Department employees and members of the community. The role demands flexibility and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and supportive way with all other staff. The School Improvement Project Support Officer will demonstrate discretion, integrity and initiative in the performance of their tasks, which include:
* Leading the support for office/facilities management.
* Records management, including administration of Area Sharepoint sites.
* Procurement, including hospitality, travel, office supplies and general invoice processing.
* General administration support including reception, meeting and event coordination.
* Management and triaging of Area inbox.
* Program administration support.
