Overview
Research Associate in Environmental Engineering at UNSW. This role involves maintaining and developing scholarly research and professional activities through defined projects and contributing to teaching and learning in the School. Based at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Reports to Professor Richard Stuetz. No direct reports.
Location and Term
Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia. Full-time, fixed-term contract for 3 years.
Salary
* Salary, Level A - $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop scholarly research and professional activities through defined projects.
* Contribute towards teaching and learning in the School.
* Collaborate with industry stakeholders; engage with practitioners in Australian water and resource industries.
* Undertake high quality academic research, conduct independent and applied research with limited supervision.
* Publish and present at conferences; build relationships across disciplines.
* Contribute to teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level; engage in professional development of teaching practice as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
* A PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience.
* Knowledge in air quality and treatment; water quality and management; chemical and sensory odorant analysis; data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning.
* Ability to work with practitioners in Australian water and resource industries; ability to conduct independent and applied research; strong publication track record.
* Team collaboration, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and students.
