About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Alcohol and Other Drugs service offers free, non-judgmental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.

We are looking for a dedicated clinician who wants to make a real difference in the lives of people navigating both substances use challenges and the justice system. As part of the Forensic Drug and Alcohol Service within the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, you will provide counselling and case management to clients participating in the MERIT and Drug Court programs, helping them build stability, wellbeing and a pathway forward.

Your work will involve getting to know each client through comprehensive assessment and thoughtful treatment planning, followed by the delivery of evidence‐based therapeutic interventions that support meaningful behavioural change. You will prepare clear and detailed reports for the courts, track client progress, and ensure all documentation reflects the high standards of the service.

This role is deeply collaborative. You will work closely with justice partners, community agencies and internal teams to ensure clients receive coordinated and compassionate care. You will participate in clinical reviews and supervision, contribute to risk management planning when health or safety concerns arise, and play an active role in shaping the ongoing development of the program through evaluation, quality improvement and the refinement of clinical practices.

If you are passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals, enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment and want to contribute to a service that genuinely changes lives, this role offers a rare and rewarding opportunity. Apply Now!
