About the role
The Work Health and Safety Officer provides advice and assistance to Incat employees, contractors and visitors on a broad range of safety matters.
Working closely with the Work Health and Safety Manager and other key stakeholders, this position will assist in embedding best practice WHS principles in accordance with Incat's Safety Management System.
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' of recent experience in risk management or in roles with transferable skills.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes
* Minimum of Cert IV in Work Health and Safety
* Current Level 2 or 3 First Aid Certificate
* ICAM Investigator training or equivalent (desirable)
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team with minimal direct supervision
* Ability to meet deadlines and deliver consistent high-quality work in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in supporting the extended executive leadership team and employees to enable all work groups meet the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 and other relevant legislation
* Prepare and facilitate risk management systems, such as risk registers and risk assessments
* Participate in audit and inspection programs
* Assist in the development and delivery of WHS induction
* Great working knowledge of computer systems and word processing skills
* Be organised and efficient, with a strong attention to detail
* Assist in the development of safety policies and procedures
* Assist in the treatment of illness and injuries onsite
* Commitment to a safe working environment.
