At Thynk Cafe + Bar, our kitchen team is the heart of what we do. We are currently looking for a reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistant / Cook to work alongside and support our Head Chef in a fast-paced café environment.
This is a casual role with consistent weekly hours, ideal for someone who enjoys early starts and being part of a tight-knit team. Must be available to work Saturdays.
About The Role
Assisting the Head Chef with daily food preparation and service
Basic cooking and plating during breakfast and lunch service
Food prep including chopping, portioning and stock rotation
Dishwashing and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
Following food safety and hygiene procedures
Supporting occasional catering and small functions
Our café operates between 6:00am and 3:00pm, Monday to Saturday, so availability for early morning shifts is essential.
What We're Looking For
Previous kitchen experience in a café or commercial kitchen (experience required)
Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
Punctual, reliable and able to work independently
Good communication and team attitude
Understanding of basic food safety practices
Availability for 3 days per week (15–25 hours)
