Role Overview
As Event Security Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of security operations for large-scale events. You'll ensure all activities meet compliance, safety, and client requirements, leading teams of security professionals and liaising with stakeholders to deliver exceptional service. You will also be responsible for coordinating staff training, supporting HR with recruitment, and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage event security teams (50–500+ staff) across diverse event types
* Develop and implement site-specific security plans, SOPs, and risk assessments
* Coordinate rostering, staff briefings, and operational logistics
* Oversee staff training and professional development for event teams
* Support HR in staff recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning
* Supervise incident response, de-escalation, and conflict resolution
* Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and insurance standards
* Engage with clients, event organizers, and emergency services
* Deliver real-time reporting and post-event reviews
* Monitor and achieve KPIs related to effectiveness, coverage, incident response, and client satisfaction
Requirements
* Security Licence (relevant state/territory)
* Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management
* Proven experience managing security for large-scale events
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution
* Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends
* Successful reference, background, and licence checks
Desirable
* Experience with high-profile events held at Stadiums and open air concerts
* Hold a ASIS International Certification
* Venue Management Association Qualification
* Familiarity with incident reporting and security technology platforms
