We are excited to be partnering with a leading global fund manager within their real estate debt team based in Sydney. The business splits its investment teams into two divisions: one responsible for origination and deal execution, and the other for asset management. This role sits within the asset management function, working directly with borrowers throughout the full cycle of the loan position. You will be actively involved in monitoring construction projects, managing investment performance, reviewing financial models and feasibilities, and liaising with all stakeholders for forecasting, exits, and timeframe management.
The role is part of a team based across the Eastern states. The team consists of 8 people, working alongside an origination function of the same size. The business holds one of the largest real estate construction and development books in the Australian market. The funds are private credit and special situations/opportunistic mandates, which enables this team to manage a range of low and higher-risk loans. Loan sizes are typically $50m+ (million), bilateral, and generally senior secured.
We are seeking a candidate from a range of backgrounds: transactions, restructuring, real estate, and/or debt advisory in real estate private credit. The candidate must be mature enough to handle difficult conversations with borrowers and must be highly organized and numerate. It is likely that the candidate has worked within or around lending in the property space and has a strong understanding of property development processes. We are looking for a candidate who has a friendly and positive demeanor, is willing to work hard, and is eager to be part of a team.
