Overview

Nowra, New South Wales

Contract

Full Time Fixed Term position available until June 2026. Salary: $99,775 - $113,318 gross p.a. plus 12% Super. 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with the option of flexitime. Located at the Nowra Natural Disasters Office. Applications close Wednesday, 24 September 2025.

About The Role

Play a pivotal role in supporting the Natural Disasters team with key business functions including financial analysis and reporting, procurement, technology improvements and procedure and process improvement. These responsibilities include:

- Conduct research and provide key financial, operational and capital advice to support decision making, maintain financial control and improvement initiatives
- Support and manage the day-to-day operations of the Natural Disaster Team through the developing of tools and budget reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies to minimise risks
- Liaise with other areas of Council to bring about improvements and provide input to corporate initiatives

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

- Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in a finance related role
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia

We are looking for an analytical and strategic thinker with strong financial acumen who is a natural liaison and able to effectively communicate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders. This role requires someone who is not just technically capable, but community-minded and is able to see the big picture while managing the finer details.
