The role:
A Preparation Technician is required to join our team at our Newcastle site. The focus of this role will be using specialised equipment to prepare coal samples and laboratory testing. You will also be involved in the simulation of coal production processes in order to test the properties of coal samples.
What's needed?
To succeed in this position you will need to possess the following key skills:
* Physical fitness and manual handling abilities
* Laboratory or sample preparation experience is an advantage but not essential
* Certificate III or IV in Laboratory skills would be preferred but is not required
* A methodical and well-organised approach to work
* Ability to pass a medical examination
* Valid NSW driver's license
* This role would suit someone looking for a career change or transferrable skills from hospitality and retail areas
* Ability to work shift work and overtime is essential
* Reliability and good communication skills are vital
Safety is paramount. Ongoing drug and alcohol testing and ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
Living locally in the Newcastle region is a must, no FIFO available.
