Key Responsibilities
* Franchise Compliance: Oversee franchise legal documentation including agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers.
* Commercial Contracting: Prepare, negotiate, and review contracts such as supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, and property leases.
* Governance & Risk: Advise on risk management, privacy matters, and legislative developments; participate in internal committees as needed.
* Board Reporting: Prepare accurate and concise legal updates for board and leadership consideration.
* External Counsel Engagement: Manage instructions and relationships with external advisors.
* Leadership: Provide guidance to a Legal Administrator.
Requirements
* 5+ years' post-admission experience, ideally in a franchising environment.
* Proven experience with franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing relationships.
* Strong commercial contracting experience, with the ability to balance legal risk against business needs.
* The confidence to work independently and interface with executives and teams.
* A collaborative approach, and the ability to work at pace in a large, evolving business.
