A globally connected litigation firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Healthcare & Insurance practice in Sydney.
This is a rare opportunity to work on complex, high-profile healthcare litigation, acting for major insurers and healthcare providers on some of the most significant medical negligence and product liability matters in NSW. The role offers real autonomy, direct client access and the chance to build a strong profile in a specialist and growing practice.
The Opportunity
You'll work closely with an experienced healthcare litigation partner on large-scale, high stakes matters, with exposure to hospital groups, healthcare providers, life sciences companies and insurers. The work is intellectually challenging and varied, covering medical negligence, product liability, coverage advice and related regulatory issues.

What You'll Be Doing
* Running medical negligence and product liability matters from early stages through to trial
* Advising clients on liability, litigation strategy and risk management
* Drafting pleadings, submissions and other court documents for complex, high-value claims
* Conducting detailed legal research on healthcare, insurance and liability issues
* Liaising directly with insurers, healthcare providers, medical experts and senior counsel
* Supporting coverage advice and regulatory or complaint matters
* Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
* Contributing to client development initiatives and knowledge sharing
About You
This role will suit a lawyer who brings:
* A recognised law degree with 2+ years' PQE (Associate to Senior Associate level)
* Experience in medical negligence and/or product liability litigation
* Defendant insurance experience preferred (plaintiff experience considered)
* The ability to manage complex litigation matters with increasing autonomy
* Strong drafting, research and advocacy skills
* Confidence dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
* A proactive, commercially minded and professional approach
