Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Leading Hand - Radio Technician within the Electrical Maintenance department at George Fisher Mine. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa.

The Role
We are looking for a qualified Leading Hand Radio Technician to safely and effectively perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks by working within a team and promoting site safety standards ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained.
Reporting to the Communications Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and exceptional communication skills. The roster for this role is 7 on 7 off day Shift.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Assist the Supervisor by acting in a leadership capacity for the crew including, acting as the supervisor when supervisor is absent
Potential improvements to work practices and conditions
Provide feedback to the Supervisor on a regular basis
To assist in achieving budgeted development and production KPIs by performing varied tasks.
Installing and the maintenance of the communications systems to site and Australian Standards
Working both independently and as part of a team whilst demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship
Maintaining installation and maintenance records
The successful candidate will possess:
Trade qualified Radio Technician;
Mining experience is preferred but not essential;
Experience with Telephone, Optic Fibre, Radio RF/HF, Miri, PED, Networking and impact collision avoidance systems
Experience with Automated machines
Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills;
Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure;
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment;
Good communication skills
Willingness and ability to learn new processes;
Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence;
Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system
Experience in Excel would be an advantage.
