**Support Services**
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. The General Services department at Casey Hospital requires a qualified Patient Services Assistant to work as part of our team working in T2.
**Patient Services Assistant - General Medical Ward (T2)**
Permanent on-going position
Friday 12.00 - 20.00
- (15 hours per fortnight)_
**About the Role**:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Ward and department cleaning
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer & cleaning of ward equipment
**About You**:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a patient services assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
