Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable families? Join our Intensive Family Support team in Ipswich, where your skills and dedication will help create safer, stronger futures for children at risk.
As an Intensive Family Support Practitioner, you'll work closely with families facing complex challenges, providing compassionate, strengths-based support to help them thrive. Your role will focus on early intervention, driving meaningful, lasting change and reducing contact with the child protection system.
You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to empowering families and transforming lives. This is a full-time, permanent role, with part-time options available for the right candidate.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Support families at risk by providing intensive, strengths-based, and client-centered interventions, including case planning, safety assessments, and informal counselling.
* Engage and build trust with families through home visits, stakeholder meetings, and community partnerships, ensuring access to relevant support services.
* Ensure child safety by proactively identifying risks, responding to concerns, and following Mission Australia's Child & Youth Safe policies and reporting procedures.
* Collaborate with external services to coordinate holistic support, facilitate group learning sessions, and promote long-term positive change for families.
* Maintain accurate case records by completing assessments, case notes, referrals, and reports in line with policies and best practices.
* Promote continuous improvement by participating in service evaluations, team processes, and community networks to enhance service delivery
Requirements for Success
With an already established career in the child, youth and family sector, you will be passionate about supporting families to strengthen the care of protection of their children. The skills and capabilities you bring include:
* Hold a degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology or a similar field
* Experience in child protection, youth work, or out-of-home care, with knowledge of Early Intervention principles.
* Strong crisis management and risk assessment skills to ensure child and family safety.
* Ability to engage and build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds, providing effective intervention strategies.
* Proven case management expertise, using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and family-focused approach.
* Excellent administration, communication, and time management skills to manage caseloads, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration
