The Opportunity
A Tier 1 mining operation is seeking an experienced Mining / Civil Engineer to lead engineering and operational delivery for a small‐scale bauxite mining operation supporting a major life‐of‐mine extension.
This is a technically focused leadership role overseeing planning, civil infrastructure, and contractor‐led mining activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver integrated mine plans (short, medium, long term)
* Oversee open pit sequencing, haul roads, drainage, and site infrastructure
* Lead rehabilitation and closure planning activities
* Align mine planning with approvals, environmental, heritage, and project requirements
* Identify and manage key risks, constraints, and production drivers
* Provide technical oversight to a bulk earthworks contractor
* Drive HSEC compliance and regulatory adherence
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation
* Engage with stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and Traditional Owners
About You
* Degree qualified in Mining or Civil Engineering
* Strong open cut mining experience (bauxite or bulk materials preferred)
* Proven capability across mine planning, scheduling, and earthworks delivery
* Solid understanding of drainage, civil infrastructure, and rehabilitation
* Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and production targets
