Peppers Blue on Blue Resort situated on Magnetic Island located just 25 minutes by ferry from Townsville. The resort, overlooking the Coral Sea offers a range of guest rooms, suites, one, two and three bedroom apartments. Purpose
As an Apprentice Chef,you will work as part of a large kitchen brigade undergoing structured training gaining practical experience in a professional kitchen under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Primary Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Learn proper techniques for handling and cutting various food items
* Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safe handling of food
* Seek opportunities to expand your knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, equipment and utensils
Skills & Experience
* Passion for cooking, currently pursuing a qualification in commercial cookery with a strong desire to pursue a culinary career
* Enthusiasm to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards
* Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
