About The Role
As the Business Support Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the Business Support Section and form part of the Regulatory Services Department management team. You will be responsible for delivering high quality business, finance and project services that empower departmental leaders to achieve council's strategic goals.
Your main focus will be on:
* Lead and manage the Business Support Section, driving customer‐focused service delivery and continuous improvement
* Oversee departmental financial and business functions, including budgets, fees and charges, infrastructure charges, procurement contracts, and major programs/projects
* Lead internal and external audit coordination, documentation, advice, and implementation of recommendations
* Analyse workflows and business requirements, and support the design, evaluation, and implementation of new business systems, including training and user testing
* Provide expert advice to the General Manager and departmental leaders on business support services, systems, and improvement initiatives

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A degree in business, commerce or accounting
* Proven leadership experience in business support, corporate services and/or organisational performance functions
* Strong strategic planning, analytical and problem‐solving capabilities
* Demonstrated experience managing complex business systems and improvement projects
* High‐level communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders, technical specialists, and elected representatives
* Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, contracts, and organisational programs
* A commitment to delivering high‐quality outcomes for the community

This is a fixed term position starting from May 2026 for approximately 13 months with a salary commencing at $133,727 plus 12.5% superannuation.
