We are seeking passionate and dedicated allied health professionals with experience in complex case management, assessment, and trauma-informed individual and family therapies. Knowledge and experience working in mental health services and out-of-home care would be ideal.
Our Aim:
CYMHS (Child and Youth Mental Health Service) in Tasmania is growing! The positions available are within our new teams, currently being developed under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, OOHC).
The Allied Health Professional will be part of the OOHC Program, with a passion for providing a person-centred approach, trauma-informed therapy, and working within a multidisciplinary team, providing high-level clinical care.
The role will include:
* Being part of a dynamic and well-supported team committed to delivering high-quality, multisystemic mental health services to children and young people in out-of-home care (OOHC).
* Undertaking clinical services through evidence-based assessment, therapies, and case management, including developing and implementing specialised treatment programs.
* Working with a diverse group of clinicians as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
* Participating in supervision, peer support, and ongoing professional development.
* Collaborating with care teams—including Child Safety Services, NGOs, schools, psychiatrists, GPs, and other agencies—to optimise service effectiveness, efficiency, and continuity of care.

Details of appointment:
One permanent full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible.
*Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the date of publication, this process may be used to fill similar vacancies, including full-time, part-time, and casual roles.
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation contribution.
* Salary in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
Access to salaries beyond $119,290 depends on qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
Salary packaging options, including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment annually, plus other benefits if eligible.
Additional allowances may include:
* Professional Development Allowance up to $1000 per year
* Various leave entitlements, including study leave and professional development support
* Fitness Passport—access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for $13.95/week per person or $25.95 for a family
Successful applicants must meet the essential criteria:
* Approved tertiary qualification and registration with the relevant Australian Board (Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology)
* Current Working with Children Registration
*Registration/licenses essential for the role must remain current and valid at all times. It is the employee’s responsibility to maintain and update these credentials and notify the employer of any changes.
Desirable criteria include:
* Current Driver’s Licence
* Postgraduate experience in mental health related to CYMHS and/or OOHC
