Support Worker Opportunity
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives. You will be working in a home in Carey Park with 5 weekday and 2 weekend shifts a fortnight. Hours range from the earliest start of 7:45am, to the latest finish of 4:15pm.
You must be able to work all the available shifts and may be able to pick up additional shifts in this home and others. Please view the roster below:
A typical day as a Support Worker may involve supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer's life goals and working to achieve them. You will also be joining customers in recreational activities such as swimming, dancing, bingo, horseback riding, going to the gym, bowling and more.
Other duties will include supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting, medication administration and attending appointments. Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and administration duties and mandatory daily reports.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in supporting customers with behaviours of concern and epilepsy. They must also be willing to participate in swimming activities with customers.
Cert III in Individual Support (CHC33015 or CHC33021) – desirable but not essential. The candidate must live locally in the Bunbury region and have willingness to support customers of any gender by assisting with personal care (showering, toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation, housekeeping).
Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. Passion for providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives. Previous experience or willingness to train in manual handling and medication administration.
Proven administration and computer literacy skills. A valid driver's licence and a willingness to use your private vehicle (with rebates available).
