The School
Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) has a DOEWA specialist program for gifted students, Leam Enrichment and Acceleration Program (LEAP), who have capabilities in maths and science. Engineering is offered to LEAP students, and the Digital literacy space aligns itself to these students' interest and passion. Our students are offered Robotics, Computer Programming, Digital Design both through an extensive curriculum and as extracurricular activities.
The Role
Lesmurdie SHS is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Digital Technologies teacher who is ideally responsive to change and can cater for the learning styles of future ready students. The successful applicant will ideally be able to facilitate the development of independent and confident learners and be willing to join our team of like‐minded professionals.
The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide students with the highest quality Digital Technologies teaching and learning programs that are as diverse and varied as the needs of our students. You will ideally have thorough understanding of instructional and curriculum design whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area and be well versed in the Western Australian Curriculum for Technologies. You should feel confident in your skills and abilities to encourage student passion and appreciation for digital technologies, by relating student learning to real‐world situations and industry.
The ability to teach Year 7 and Year 8 Digital Technologies, Year 8 Media and Year 10 Photography, Film & Television would be an advantage. However, all programmes and supports will be in place for the new teacher.
