About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team based at the Group Support Services (GSS) office, located in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane.
As the Senior Payroll Advisor, you'll drive accurate, compliant, and timely payroll outcomes for corporate teams and operational sites, act as 2IC to the Group Payroll Manager, and be a go to partner for HR, Finance, and site teams.
The successful candidates will oversee and support three Payroll Officers, monitoring site-based payroll operations and functioning as the primary escalation point.
With a high level of attention to detail you will:
* Validate time & attendance, interpret complex awards/EBAs and complete complex calculations.
* Administer Single Touch Payroll, superannuation, salary sacrifice, PAYG, child support.
* Reconcile payroll to the general ledger; prepare superannuation and payroll tax obligations.
* Manage leave accruals (annual, personal, LSL) and workers' compensation payments.
* Produce regular and ad-hoc payroll reports; support audits and internal controls.
* Maintain accurate employee master data and strict confidentiality/privacy standards.
* Resolve escalated pay queries and coach payroll officers on best practices.
* Contribute to system upgrades/UAT, documentation, and continuous process improvement.
Teys is currently transitioning to UKG, and you'll play a key role in this exciting project contributing to configuration, testing, data migration, and smooth change adoption.

About YouIt is essential that you have the following:
* 4 - 6+ years' payroll experience with increasing scope/complexity (ideally in a manufacturing environment).
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (Fair Work, Super Guarantee, STP Phase 2, payroll tax).
* Proven award/EBA interpretation and complex calculation skills.
* Advanced Excel and experience with a major payroll/HRIS (e.g., iChris/CHRIS21, UKG/Kronos).
* Meticulous attention to detail, data integrity focus, and deadline discipline.
* Clear communicator with a service mindset and confidence handling sensitive matters.
