Abundance Human Resources is a boutique HR consultancy specialising in supporting Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and not for profit organisations. We provide practical, culturally informed HR, workforce development and executive recruitment services, and pride ourselves on building strong, respectful and long term relationships with our clients.
We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to join our small and values driven team. This is a home based role with regular regional travel to client sites.
About the role
You will work closely with Aboriginal organisations to provide high quality HR advice and support across a broad range of matters. You will act as a trusted advisor, often working as an embedded HR Manager within client organisations. The role also includes workforce development, executive recruitment and contributing to business growth.
There is an opportunity to earn commission through generating and expanding client work.
Key responsibilities include
* Providing accurate, practical and culturally respectful HR advice
* Working as an embedded HR Manager within client organisations when required
* Delivering workforce development and HR coaching services
* Providing executive recruitment services
* Developing HR tools such as policies, position descriptions and employment contracts
* Conducting HR audits
* Building strong and trusted client relationships
* Contributing to marketing and business development activities including written content
* Actively promoting Abundance HR services
* Supporting the development and improvement of internal systems and processes
About you
You are an experienced HR professional who values relationship based work and understands the importance of working respectfully with Aboriginal organisations.
You are comfortable working autonomously, travelling to regional client sites, and contributing to the growth of a small consultancy.
Essential requirements
* Tertiary qualification in HR or equivalent relevant experience
* Minimum five years experience in a senior HR, HR business partner, employment or recruitment role
* Strong understanding of change management and organisational culture
* Advanced HR advisory skills across a range of HR matters
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and strong administration skills
* Strong client relationship and influencing skills
* Advanced computer skills particularly with Microsoft applications
* Confident decision making ability
Highly regarded
* Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or Aboriginal agencies
* Strong understanding of culturally safe and respectful HR practice
* Experience working in regional or remote settings
