Children, Youth and Families (CYF), Operation Branch is looking for an experience team leader to work in the Kinship Assessment and Support Team. The team leader will need to be focused on providing strong leadership to build an integrated multidisciplinary team, delivering the best possible life outcomes for children and young people through undertaking kinship assessments and carer support for children in care. As the team leader, you will lead a team of kinship assessment and support practitioners, including triage and allocation of referrals, and review and quality assurance of initial and comprehensive kinship assessments. You will also be required to promote effective service delivery and timely compliance of statutory functions as they relate to kinship assessments, including oversight of carer approvals and compliance with working with vulnerable people legislation. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline. As this role is likely to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, and capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable CYPP 4 must have at least five years of practical experience working with children, young people and/or their families in a social work/case management role. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
