The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Assistant Director of Nursing (Adult and Older Person Inpatient) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Lead a dedicated team, interface with peer service lines all focused on ensuring timely implementation of actions
- Collaborate with Inpatient Nurse Unit Mangers, education team, professional leads and lived experience team
- Work with others to identify organisational and cultural factors that enhance or detract from Inpatient Unit's cohesion
- Support and encourage capacity to build resilience to change and subsequent progress across the mental health inpatient facilities
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses or working towards a qualification in Mental Health
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19. This includes receiving the prescribed subsequent dose/s of a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e. booster)
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Temporary full time (18 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $139 878 - $146 656 per annum

The Assistant Director of Nursing (Adult and Older Person Inpatient) role will work closely with the Nursing Director and Medical Director for the Adult and Older Persons Service Line to lead and reform the Mental Health Inpatient units, in providing contemporary consumer focused care by optimising staff and consumers safety.
Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Service has 127 acute mental health inpatient beds across two Hospitals within Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. These beds are located at Gold Coast University and Robina hospitals.
