Electrical Engineer
Perth-Based with WFH
Required ASAP
$85 - 105 per hour
Initial 3-month contract
Electrical Engineer required to join a leading engineering team, working on major mining, oil & gas, and power projects in Western Australia. This role offers the opportunity to participate in design and development of electrical systems, support construction and commissioning, and deliver high-quality technical outcomes across large-scale industrial facilities.
The role is Perth-based (office 3 days per week) with immediate start available.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in FEED, detailed design, and proposals within EPC/project environments
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian standards
- Proficiency in ETAP/DIgSILENT for power system studies (short circuit, load flow, motor starting, relay coordination, earthing, arc flash)
- Experience with preparation of single line diagrams, cable calculations, schematics, and equipment schedules
- Background in vendor management including MR preparation, bid evaluation, and review of vendor drawings
- Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
Preferred: Procurement package management experience
Previous experience in the Australian mining and metals industry
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and modification of electrical systems for major projects
- Perform power system studies and ensure compliance with project standards
- Participate in 3D model reviews and coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and project execution phases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient project outcomes
- Contribute to project risk assessments including HAZOP, HAZID, and HSEC reviews
