We are seeking the expertise of a motivated and energetic Grounds and Maintenance person to join our Facilities and Grounds team to actively contribute to the overall maintenance and presentation of our school grounds, buildings and sporting fields.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer through the Facilities Supervisor, the Grounds and maintenance person role is responsible for:
* general grounds duties, including mowing, pruning, hedging, weeding, and fertilising.
* contribute to maintaining a high level of presentation of our facilities and grounds at all times, including buildings, gardens, and lawns.
* general maintenance, upgrades, and/or repair tasks of college facilities as requested,
* maintain all roads, pathways, and grates to ensure that they are clean and free from rubbish, weeds, and other debris;
* pressure washing of external walkways, surfaces of buildings, and awnings;
* general use and basic maintenance tools including, mowers, whipper snippers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, etc;
* preparation and maintenance of college sports fields. This may involve mowing, fertilising, line marking, set up, and dismantling of any sports equipment required.
* assist with venue set up for any school events/occasions including moving and setting up furniture and equipment; and
* any other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer and Facilities Supervisor.
Essential criteria:
• Current Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain before commencement)
• Experienced in grounds maintenance
• Good verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria:
• Experience in a school setting
• ACDC (Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control) License
• AHCMOM213 Operate and maintain chainsaws
• General building maintenance experience
• Landscaping experience
