Job Description
Reporting into executive leadership, the General Manager will lead the overall performance and growth of the consultancy. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on commercial engagement across key clients and projects.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Define and execute the growth strategy for the business as it scales nationally.
* Identify opportunities across utilities, energy infrastructure, resources, and industrial markets.
* Ensure the organisation remains positioned at the front end of major infrastructure and energy projects.
Commercial & Client Leadership
* Build and maintain senior relationships with asset owners, utilities, EPC contractors, and infrastructure developers.
* Drive revenue growth and pipeline development across multiple market segments.
* Position the business as a trusted engineering partner within complex infrastructure environments.
Operational Leadership
* Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering technical design and advisory services.
* Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
* Oversee project performance, resource planning, and operational efficiency.
Growth & Market Expansion
* Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and market presence nationally.
* Support the continued growth of consulting capability within energy transition and grid infrastructure markets.
* Contribute to broader strategic initiatives as the organisation continues to scale.
The Successful Applicant
We are seeking an experienced senior leader with a strong track record operating within engineering consulting, infrastructure advisory, or technical services environments.
The successful candidate will bring:
* Demonstrated experience leading engineering, infrastructure, or technical consulting businesses.
* Strong commercial capability with proven success growing client relationships and project pipelines.
* Experience working across sectors such as energy infrastructure, utilities, power systems, mining, or large-scale industrial environments.
* Credibility operating with senior stakeholders including asset owners, developers, and major contractors.
* A leadership style that builds high-performing technical teams while maintaining strong client engagement.
While a technical background in engineering or infrastructure is advantageous, the role ultimately requires a commercially astute leader capable of scaling a consulting business within complex project environments.
