Business Development Manager
to drive sustainable revenue and strengthen long-term customer partnerships.
The Opportunity
In this role, you'll take ownership of
new business development
while also growing and retaining existing customer accounts. You'll work closely with technical and operations teams to deliver commercially sound, customer-focused solutions and position the business as a
partner of choice
in compliance and testing services.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys
building relationships, developing strategy, and seeing tangible commercial outcomes
.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth
* Identify and pursue new market opportunities, customers, and industry segments
* Manage and grow key customer accounts, building long-term strategic partnerships
* Act as the primary commercial contact from initial enquiry through to contract award
* Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and service offerings with technical teams
* Collaborate with site managers and engineers to ensure customer, regulatory, and commercial requirements are met
* Maintain strong knowledge of service capabilities, capacity, and accreditation scope
* Track sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools
* Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings, and networking opportunities
* Provide market insights and customer feedback to support service development
About You
What you'll bring:
* Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management (B2B)
* Track record of achieving and exceeding revenue and growth targets
* Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and customer-facing skills
* Ability to translate technical services into commercial value
* Experience preparing proposals, quotes, and commercial agreements
* Strong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly regarded:
* Experience in testing, certification, engineering, or technical B2B services
* Understanding of product compliance, EMC, safety, or regulatory testing
* CRM and sales reporting experience
* Background in strategic account management or solution selling
