This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 7 days on / 7 days off day shift roster. We encourage suitably qualified and experienced local candidates to apply. About the role
This position reports to the Communications Supervisor and is responsible for supporting, maintaining and leading telecommunications infrastructure across Glencore Metals Australia business units. You will play a hands on role in the design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems across multiple operational environments.

Key responsibilities
* Install and maintain Cisco voice and video systems
* Support and maintain radio network infrastructure
* Perform fibre optic, LAN and telecommunications cabling installations
* Conduct network maintenance, diagnostics and fault finding
* Install, maintain and support video conferencing systems
* Provide support for mobile devices across multiple operational sites
* Assist with billing support, budget preparation and cost control
* Supervise contractors and apprentices where required
About you – skills and experience
* A self motivated and flexible approach with the ability to work independently
* Registered Cabler certification, including Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic endorsements
* Strong experience in fibre optic installation, termination and troubleshooting
* Experience in communications cabling within commercial or industrial environments
* Solid understanding of AS/CA S009 customer cabling requirements
* Strong communication and customer engagement skills
* A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
* A proactive, team focused attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
Highly Regarded
* Certificate III in Telecommunications or higher
* IT infrastructure experience, including networking fundamentals
* Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications
