Senior trust accountant

Location: Bondi Junction, Sydney

Salary: $120,000 + Super

We are seeking an experienced Senior Trust Accountant to join a well-established, privately-owned property and investment group. This newly created role will take ownership of trust accounting across a diverse portfolio of property and investment assets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.

Working closely with the Finance Manager and senior finance leaders, you'll play a key role in reporting, analysis, and process improvement, contributing to strategic financial decision‐making in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment.

• Prepare monthly financial reports for trust and corporate accounts
• Review trial balances and ensure accuracy in trust transactions
• Assist with statutory financial statements, BAS, and annual returns
• Manage general ledger, balance sheet, intercompany, and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare annual budgets and liaise with key stakeholders as required
• Use accounting systems (MRI mandatory, MyBuildings desirable) for reporting and analysis
• Streamline internal accounting processes while maintaining compliance
• Support senior finance leadership with ad hoc projects and financial insights

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
• 5+ years' accounting experience, preferably in property or funds management
• Strong understanding of trust accounting principles and financial compliance
• Proficiency in MRI General Ledger and Excel; MyBuildings experience advantageous
• Experience in family office or private group accounting highly regarded
• Ability to thrive in a fast‐moving, high‐pressure environment
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
