Project Quality Rep/Works Assistant - Road Works
This role will involve working within road works crews based at Hay, ensuring works specifications, quality control and work plan requirements are followed and implemented. This is an office-based role. Some travel to site may be required at times, including some occasional overnight stays.
This involves various administration based duties such as completing checklists and quality documentation procedures, monitoring work activities, verifying product/materials specs and reconciling documentation from suppliers, overseeing and verifying documentation relating to traffic control activities, site safety and toolbox talk records etc. You will be responsible for completing accurate records; and conducting safety, environmental and quality checks and audits. A sound level of computer skills will be essential for you to meet the needs of this role.
You must be able to operate independently, whilst also demonstrating a good level of team skills. You will work under limited supervision and direction, and will need to be capable of managing routine problems as they arise during the course of the work by utilising your acquired knowledge and referring to standard guidelines and manuals.
This position is available for an initial period of 4 months until end of June with potential of extending for the right person.
The successful applicant will be confident, proactive and have experience operating within a civil construction/bridge works/road works environment or similar industry equivalent. You will have the ability to understand and apply quality assurance and specifications to units of work. You will also have a passion for quality assurance and attention to detail and understand the importance this has to the final product.
Sound literacy and numeracy skills and intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite will assist in your success within this role.
Requirements
Construction Industry Certification (White Card)
Work On Foot certificate (or willing to obtain - can be undertaken as part of the onboarding process for successful applicant/s)
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, external providers and staff at all levels - in both written and oral form
Demonstrated experience in physical labouring roles, preferably within civil or transport projects
Previous experience in a quality role would be preferred, or previous work with a roads works or civil construction crew, and the ability to apply your knowledge and experience to learn all aspects of this role.
