About Our Occupational Health Advisor Role
Job Description
This role is a key contributor to the successful implementation of health promotion strategies and maintaining health services across our business units. The Occupational Health Advisor will work closely with stakeholders to inform decisions relating to worker health and wellness, fitness for work, and injury management processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional allied health support/advice to key stakeholders to inform decisions relating to worker health and wellness, fitness for work, and injury management processes
* Conduct formal workplace assessments of equipment and processes
* Plan and schedule occupational health surveillance programs and processes
* Conduct occupational health screening as part of pre-employment and periodic medical examinations
* Contribute to the development and coordination of strategies for the business health and wellbeing program
* Manage relationships with medical and rehabilitation service providers
* Manage the regular doctor's clinic and provide direct support to retained company GP and Physiotherapist
Requirements
* Allied Health Professional qualification (e.g. Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist)
* Current AHPRA registration
* Demonstrated experience providing occupational health services for industry/manufacturing clients
* Ability to conduct occupational health screenings including audiometry, vision, spirometry, vital sign checks, and urinalysis, drug and alcohol testing (qualifications desirable)
* Ability to conduct workplace assessments/ergonomic assessments
* Ability to provide professional advice/training on occupational health issues including injury management, manual handling/ergonomics, healthy lifestyle, and injury prevention
