Scope Family Centre is a Gold Coast family centre providing ongoing support to families and children currently involved in Family Court and Child Safety proceedings.
Contact supervisors are responsible for providing high quality supervision and support for children and their families.
**About the Role**:
- Facilitate and provide ongoing supervision and support to the children and family members throughout the contact period
- Ensure that the safety of the child/young person is upheld throughout the duration of the visit
- Monitor and write accurate and precise case notes for the visit that will be used in Family Court and Child Safety proceedings
- Work with the children and parents to ensure that contact is comfortable for all parties, and assist in managing any tensions that may arise during the visit
- Provide Youth Worker support for young people
- Transport children to and from school, day-care and family contacts
**This role involves reliability and flexibility from our contact supervisors. We are looking for empathetic and understanding people who are committed to supporting children and families. This position requires a high level of resilience and ability to work with diverse individuals and at times, require strong capabilities in Conflict Management and Interpersonal Skills.**
**Essential Criteria**:
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to working with children and vulnerable families, counselling, community services or equivalent or actively working toward obtaining this qualification. University students are welcomed
- Knowledge of child development, child protection and family violence issues
- Current driver's license and own reliable vehicle that is comprehensively insured to transport children
- Flexibility and availability to work outside of business hours
- Professional Indemnity Cover
- Current Queensland WWCC (Blue Card)
- Current First aid certificate or willingness to attain one
- Own computer and mobile phone that can be used for work-related purposes
- Excellent observational skills and ability to write succinct and precise notes that effectively document events that occur during contact periods
**Renumeration**:
$25-$50 per hour dependant on level of qualifications and experience. Mileage will also be covered on a cents per km travelled basis.
