ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled trade team members whose passion and focus are all about the service and giving our builders the best possible service, and products they need to build their homes. Your leadership skills in mentoring and coaching your team will be integral to their development and success. You will also be a sales-focused leader with the ability to achieve and exceed sales targets. You will support the Branch Manager with administrative tasks, customer service, toolbox meetings, ensure the branch is well stocked with supplies to meet customer demands. In the absence of the Branch Manager, you may be required to step in and act as the primary contact to ensure delivery of excellent customer service and meet daily operational needs. You will report to the Branch Manager who will provide direction, coaching and mentoring.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

* Manage staff on a daily basis and give direction according to the daily priorities
* Ability to identify problems or issues and report to the Branch Manager
* Act as a point of contact whilst the Branch Manager is offsite/away
* Focusing on efficiency and ensuring the branch meets customer expectations
* Oversee stock inventory, monthly reporting and annual forecasting
* Plan and prepare rosters to ensure adequate coverage and service levels during trading hours
* Drive and manage a high performing team, committed to providing outstanding customer service
* Engage in training and coaching activities of new recruits and existing employees

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

* 10+ years experience in an assistant manager / supervisor role leading a team
* Forklift Licence (mandatory)
* Drivers Licence - (mandatory)
* Construction Induction Card - (mandatory)
* Previous industry experience in manufacturing, trade retail, hardware, or a similar environment will be highly desirable although not essential
* Positive relationship building abilities with internal and external customers
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with high level attention to detail and accuracy
* High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
* Finally have a 'hands on' with a 'can do' attitude
