**Job Summary**
We are seeking a motivated Gym Attendant to join our team at Townsville RAAF Base. The successful candidate will be responsible for the general supervision of designated Defence gymnasiums, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a safe and productive experience for members.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Conduct pre-opening duties, including turning on lights and electrical equipment, completing safety checks, and inspecting areas for cleanliness.
* Welcome new members or visitors, providing facility overview and information on non-technical use of gymnasium equipment.
* Review daily/weekly equipment requirements and assist Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) set up/disassemble equipment required for classes.
* Maintain weights and cardiovascular fitness areas, ensuring they are kept neat and used according to rules.
* Undertake weekly inspections and testing of equipment to maintain serviceability.
* Conduct closing procedures, including securing the gymnasium and inspecting areas for cleanliness.
**Requirements and Qualifications:**
* A minimum of one year's experience in a gym attendant role is preferred.
* Fitness, activity level, and energy are essential qualities for this role.
* Pleasant, outgoing personality and positive attitude with customer service experience are highly valued.
* Current Resuscitation Certificate and Senior First Aid Certificate are necessary qualifications.
* Certificate III Fitness and Pool Lifeguard Certificate are well-regarded but not essential.
