Overview
A great opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented Production Coordinator in a machining and fabrication company. They manage the day-to-day workflow, scheduling, and logistics to ensure seamless operation in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of steel products (Linear/Billet/Profile Cutting) would be an advantage.
* Some familiarity with machining/fabrication processes would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities of a Production Coordinator
* Planning and Scheduling Workflow - Creating Production Schedules: developing daily, weekly, or monthly schedules to meet customer deadlines.
* Job Tracking - Monitoring the progress of individual jobs, from raw material procurement to final assembly, ensuring no bottlenecks occur. Adjusting schedules on short notice to accommodate rush orders or address urgent equipment, staffing, or material issues.
* Material and Resource Coordination - Inventory Management - Ordering and tracking raw materials and tracking consumption, as well as managing shop supplies.
* Liaison with Suppliers - Coordinating with vendors for raw materials and subcontractors for external services.
* Acting as the main point of contact between sales, engineering (draftsmen), and shop floor personnel.
* Documentation Management/Data Capture - Preparing and updating work orders, job tickets, and ensuring drawings are available for operators.
* Quality Control Support - Coordinating with QA staff to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
* Progress Reporting - Generating daily reports on output, machine hours, and material consumption to analyze efficiency.
* Read Drawings - Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, drawings, CAD files, DXF, STEP, IGES etc.
* Time Management - Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
