About the Role:
This position is a vital part of our residential care team, requiring individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. As an After Hours Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of young people during nighttime hours.
The role involves delivering phone support to youth workers across different residential care homes, guiding them through challenging situations, and offering practical advice to manage incidents effectively. You will also be required to drive to various residential care homes to provide in-person support, assess situations, and offer hands-on assistance during after-hours incidents.
Key Responsibilities: Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young people; Assist in the development of independent living skills, empowering young people for the future; Ensure the safety and well-being of young people by reporting any concerns promptly; Support young people in maintaining connections to important people and places in their lives.
Requirements:
* A minimum qualification of Diploma of Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent; Demonstrated skills and experience in youth services, residential care or supported accommodation; Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families; Demonstrated experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced significant challenges and trauma.
