## Workers Compensation Underwriting Manager, New BusinessWe're thrilled that you are interested in joining us here at the Amynta Group!We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Workers' Compensation Underwriting Manager to lead our New Business Underwriting team. This leader will oversee a multi carrier underwriting operation, ensure adherence to diverse carrier guidelines, drive workflow optimization, and maintain strong service levels in a fast paced MGA environment. This role requires deep workers' compensation expertise, strong people leadership, and the ability to manage complex processes across multiple carriers, systems, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can balance operational execution with continuous improvement. This is a high‐impact leadership role with the opportunity to shape the future of our Workers' Compensation underwriting operations. You'll lead a talented team, partner with top carriers, and play a key role in driving operational excellence and growth.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES****Leadership & Team Management*** Lead, mentor, and develop the Workers' Compensation New Business Underwriting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.* Provide coaching, training, and technical guidance to underwriters at all levels.* Manage staffing, workload distribution, and performance evaluations.* Serve as a key leader within the WC department, partnering closely with other managers and senior leadership.**Underwriting Oversight*** Oversee new business underwriting across multiple carrier partners, ensuring strict adherence to each carrier's guidelines, appetite, and workflows.* Act as an escalation point for complex risks, underwriting exceptions, and agent inquiries.* Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and collaborate on underwriting strategy, appetite alignment, and operational improvements.**Operational Excellence*** Own and optimize underwriting workflows, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.* Monitor and achieve SLA performance across all new business underwriting functions.* Identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and drive automation or system enhancements in partnership with internal teams.* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, carrier rules, and internal quality standards.**Cross‐Functional Collaboration*** Partner with Product, IT, Operations, and other internal teams to resolve issues, enhance systems, and support new initiatives.* Collaborate with Business Development and Carrier Relations to support growth strategies and carrier expectations.* Participate in carrier audits, reviews, and performance discussions.**Reporting & Analytics*** Track and report on underwriting performance, SLA adherence, productivity, and quality metrics.* Analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement or training.* Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on team performance, risk trends, and operational needs.**QUALIFICATIONS****Required*** **5–7+ years of Workers' Compensation underwriting experience**, preferably within an MGA or multi‐carrier environment.* **3+ years of people management experience**, leading underwriters or underwriting teams.* Strong understanding of WC class codes, rating, appetite guidelines, and underwriting best practices.* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple carriers, guidelines, and workflows simultaneously.* Proven success in process optimization, workflow design, and operational improvement.* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing deadlines.* Excellent communication skills — clear, calm, and effective with internal teams, agents, and carrier partners.* Comfortable operating in a fast‐paced, high‐volume environment.* Proficiency in MC Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)* Bachelor's Degree preferred**Preferred*** Experience in an MGA or program administrator setting.* Familiarity with underwriting systems, dashboards, and workflow tools.* Experience managing remote teams.* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.**Work Environment*** Remote work schedule with occasional travel to Sacrament, Ca headquarters.* Fast paced environment, with knowledgeable leadership and executives that have over 20+ years of experience in workers comp. services. **BENEFITS:** In addition to our base compensation package, we also offer:* 18 days of paid time off per year* 11 paid holidays* Health, dental and vision insurance plan,* Short-term disability insurance* Long-term disability insurance* Basic term life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance* A 401(k) plan which includes an employer match* Voluntary Life Insurance is also available**PAY RANGE**$90,000 - $120,000 and will depend on several factors including geographical location, relevant experience, skills and knowledge pertaining to this role and industry.
