Mission Statement
Through awareness events, social enterprise, collaboration, and partnership we will generate change locally to see slavery end globally.
Vision Statement
We will use our freedom to fight for the freedom of others.
Be Hers is on a mission to end human trafficking, slavery, and exploitation. We are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those who have been affected. By joining our team, you can help us raise awareness about this critical issue and support those impacted.
The Be Hers Mentoring Program provides a safe and supportive environment for multicultural, migrant, refugee, and at-risk women who have experienced social isolation, exploitation, trauma, or barriers to participation in community life and employment. Through consistent, trauma-informed mentoring, the program empowers women to rebuild confidence, strengthen practical life skills, improve communication, and work toward meaningful pathways to education, employment, and independence.
As part of this program, we are currently seeking Volunteer Mentors to provide conversational English and language support. Sessions are held on Thursdays or Fridays between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, with scheduling arranged in consultation with program staff and participant availability.
This mentoring role focuses on creating a safe, encouraging, and culturally respectful environment where participants can build confidence in speaking and understanding English through everyday conversation, practical activities, and relationship-based support. Mentors are not required to be qualified English teachers; rather, they provide patient, informal language practice and encouragement tailored to each woman’s individual goals, strengths, and needs.
