Overview
Step into a senior role where your clinical expertise and leadership directly impact care for trans and gender-diverse young people. This is a temporary full-time position until September 2026 in Newcastle (Awabakal Country). Remuneration is $144,702 - $152,992 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging.
Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnosis, and treatment, including gender dysphoria assessment.
* Lead evidence-based individual and group interventions and evaluate therapeutic outcomes.
* Exercise independent clinical judgement in complex presentations.
* Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and consultation to psychologists and allied health clinicians.
* Support reflective practice and guide clinicians managing complex care needs.
* Contribute to and lead research, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Influence service development and strategic planning at district and state levels.
* Model professional behaviours aligned with organisational values, codes of conduct, and excellence frameworks.
Qualifications
* Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full-time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
* Advanced clinical expertise and sound diagnostic skills.
* Experience supervising and supporting clinicians.
* Clear, compassionate, and confident communication.
* Strong organisational, leadership, and problem‐solving abilities.
* A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork.
* A reflective and evidence‐informed practice style.
