ABOUT THE ROLE: Join our team and play a pivotal role in creating unforgettable experiences across our eight unique lodges. As Lodge Maintenance Manager, you will provide crucial technical and logistical support to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance lodge assets, ensuring every area exudes luxury and comfort.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Provide operational maintenance support for local site management across all Outback Spirit lodges
* Oversee ongoing maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely preventative and scheduled maintenance
* Travel to remote lodges as required for diagnosis, planning and ongoing monitoring
* Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimise disruption to guest experiences and staff living conditions
* Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance procedures, manage inventory and report consumables and spare parts within budget
* Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers, negotiating pricing and service levels
* Maintain compliance registers and records of all maintenance activities
* Liaise with Lodge Managers and staff regarding maintenance requirements
* Address electrical, plumbing, structural and refrigeration breakdowns with on-site assessments
* Collaborate with Workplace Health & Safety, Human Resources, Aviation and Finance to coordinate maintenance works
* Promote Outback Spirit and Journey Beyond brand through a proactive service mindset
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate will possess leadership and communication skills, with experience in managing operations remotely. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are proactive in problem-solving, and can prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Requirements:
* 5+ years' experience in a project management or business management role
* Experience (ideally a trade) in electrical, plumbing and/or refrigeration
* Sound understanding of the tourism industry (preferred)
* Strong leadership skills
* Proactive approach with commitment to delivering optimal outcomes for guests and operations
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Strong administration skills
