Sales Manager - Turbomachinery | Industrial Air Compressors | Targeting Primary Industries

Is a globally known industrial manufacturing company that supplies bespoke manufacturing solutions that support primary industries ranging from Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals and Manufacturing with turbomachinery used in Air Separation, Compression, and Heat Exhange used in their processing facilities.
Their products average multiple millions of dollars per project, solutions sold via specification with end users in primary industries and engineering companies and consultants tasked with leading major projects. The majority of specifications are greenfield opportunities, supplying equipment to new plants and sites, although some are upgrades and remedial work on complete overhaul of existing equipment.
**Your new role**
The role of the Sales Manager is to generate new business development opportunities to sell the company's turbomachinery to customers via long sales lifecycles, with touchpoints with end users, the EPC contractors and engineering consultancies tasked with designing and constructing or upgrading process facilities.
With multiple and detailed touchpoints along the way toward winning a specification which could take over 5 years, while the bespoke solution is manufactured in the European manufacturing sites, which could take up to 2 years, and throughout the commissioning cycle, up to 6 months, you will be required to assist the customer along the journey to ensure a smooth process.
Regular customer meetings through the scoping of a concept, design, quoting and contract negotiation phases are required to close projects whilst simultaneously engaging with your colleagues around the world to ensure successful outcomes are achieved.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Particular knowledge of Turbomachinery is highly beneficial, aligned product knowledge from other Industrial Engines, Steam and Gas Turbines, Expanders, Air Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Rotating Equipment or Mining Equipment and Process Automation will also be considered.
- Business Development and Sales experience selling large scale and high value equipment to primary industries, ranging from Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals and Manufacturing are required.
- The tenacity and perseverance to chase product sales of new equipment in very long and complex sales lifecycles, with a high degree of customer care and engagement.
- Willingness to travel up to 1 week per month visiting customers across Australia to build relationships and win specifications on projects.
