This role presents an exciting opportunity to establish our clients business as the leading authority in their market category. By leveraging the company's extensive network of stores, suppliers, and relationships, along with your expertise in the market and trends, you will play a key role in driving the brand's success. Your responsibilities will include product range forecasting, selection, and development, competitor analysis, supplier management, budgeting, campaign planning, and product presentations.
**What you will bring to the role**:
You will have previous experience in a Buyer or Category Manager role, preferably within the soft furnishing/home-wares categories, ideally in a bricks and mortar retail environment. You should possess a strong understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor analysis, enabling you to make data-driven decisions and develop competitive pricing strategies. Your track record should demonstrate proficiency in category and supplier management, including product and stock planning, negotiation, supply chain management, and collaboration with various teams such as Marketing and E-Commerce.
Strong analytical skills, numeracy, and critical thinking are essential for this role, as you will be responsible for utilising relevant reporting to inform product decisions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills are also important, as you will be interacting with internal and external partners. Diligence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple time-lines and projects are vital for success. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills, is required.
