About Your New Role
As the Women's Health Nurse at Hunter Valley Community Health (HVCH), you will deliver high-quality, individualised and case-managed care to women across the Upper Hunter region. Working within a community health setting, you will provide both clinical expertise and professional leadership, supporting women through a range of health needs in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
Your role will include travelling to multiple sites each week to facilitate Women's Health Clinics. Clinical responsibilities include cervical screening tests, breast examinations, postnatal checks, and providing advice and education relating to contraception, continence, and broader women's health concerns. You will also be responsible for reviewing clinical results, preparing support letters to GPs for further investigation or treatment, following up with clients via phone, and coordinating education sessions for the community.
If you hold qualifications as a Nurse Immuniser, you will have the opportunity to participate in the School-Based Immunisation Program, as well as deliver health education to local schools, TAFE, and community groups.
It is essential that you have completed the Statement of Attainment in Reproductive and Sexual Health through Family Planning NSW, demonstrating your specialised knowledge and commitment to women's health care.
Applicants must also hold current Authority to Practise as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA, have a minimum of three years' post-registration experience, and at least 12 months' experience within a Women's Health clinical setting.
Where You'll Be Working

You will be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and the Women's Health and Midwifery Network (WHAM), working collaboratively to deliver accessible, high-quality care across a geographically diverse region. With limited access to female General Practitioners in some areas, this service plays a vital role in meeting the health needs of local women.
