Job Title: Perinatal Mental Health Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Perinatal Mental Health Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the Infant and Child Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, you will provide mental health assessments, treatment, and consultation to women in the perinatal period, infants, and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide psychosocial and psychiatric assessments of women in the perinatal period, infants, broader family members, and engaged agencies.
* Work alongside agencies involved in the woman and infant's care, providing consultation where required.
* Act as a resource for and provide education to health workers within the service and in the community on mental health problems, management, and availability of mental health services specifically regarding perinatal and infant mental health.
Requirements:
* Holds a formal qualification in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, or Clinical/Forensic/Neuro Psychology.
* Experienced clinical skills in the psychiatric assessment and treatment of infants and children up to 11 years of age.
* Advanced clinical decision-making skills regarding the management of risk in relation to children.
