Overview
TheOffice of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General (OOSGG)is seeking an experiencedICT Project Manager (EL1 equivalent)to lead the transition of ICT services from an internal arrangement to a shared services model with another government department.
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of this complex transition, ensuring continuity of services, value for money, and alignment with agency objectives.
This role isfully onsite at Government House, Canberra, with standard hours of7.5 hours per day.
Base pay range
A$150,000.00/yr - A$175,000.00/yr
Key Skills and Experience Requirements
Financial Management (SFIA Level 4): Proven experience monitoring and maintaining financial records, assisting with budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
Project Management (SFIA Level 5): Demonstrated ability to lead medium-scale ICT projects from initiation to completion, managing change control, risk, timelines, budgets, and resources.
Stakeholder Relationship Management (SFIA Level 5): Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management across technical and non-technical teams.
Public Sector Experience: Experience working in the Australian public sector and managing ICT transitions or shared service initiatives.
Technical Leadership: Ability to provide guidance to in-house ICT staff and liaise with third-party providers.
Security Clearance: Musthold NV1 clearanceprior to commencement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement acomprehensive ICT strategythat aligns with agency objectives.
Oversee and manage thetransition of ICT servicesto the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS), ensuring continuity of services and a fit-for-purpose solution.
Providestrategic and considered adviceto OOSGG stakeholders.
Collaborate with business leaders across the agency to understand technology needs and requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships within and between OOSGG and DPS, including negotiating and managing contracts and agreements.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, providing guidance on technology matters.
Ensure thesecurity and reliability of ICT systemsand implement strategies to protect sensitive information.
Overseeday-to-day operationsof the ICT Operations team, including management of staff, budgets, and resources.
Take a lead role inplanning, coordinating, and monitoring project deliverables, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, on budget, and within agreed standards.

Selection Criteria
Candidates must submit aone-page pitch addressing the following SFIA-based criteria:
Financial Management (Level 4 SFIA)– Monitor and maintain financial records, support budgeting and financial planning, and provide decision-making data.
Project Management (Level 5 SFIA)– Lead medium-scale projects, manage risks, change control, costs, and timelines, and ensure project deliverables meet objectives.
Stakeholder Relationship Management (Level 5 SFIA)– Identify and manage stakeholder needs, facilitate communication and engagement, and act as a single point of contact for project delivery.
