Job Summary:
This Animal Welfare Specialist role focuses on providing animal control services through proactive community engagement, education, and enforcement of relevant policies and laws.
* Develop and implement strategies to promote responsible pet ownership and address animal-related concerns within the Break O'Day municipality.
* Conduct regular patrols, inspections, and investigations to ensure compliance with animal control regulations and council policies.
* Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving issues in a fair and professional manner.
* Collaborate with other departments to enhance animal welfare and public safety initiatives.
Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and a genuine passion for animal welfare. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion in challenging situations.
This is a part-time position, working up to four days per fortnight, with flexible hours and occasional weekend or public holiday work required. The ideal candidate will be available to work outside standard operating hours and adapt to changing circumstances.
