The multidisciplinary team includes Deputy Principals, Heads of Student Wellbeing, Year Coordinators, Youth Workers, Chaplain, Community Health Nurse, Student Support Officers and a Triage Assistant. These staff demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement and a commitment to supporting student engagement and wellbeing through effective and efficient processes.

The Student Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Wellbeing Team. Suitable applicants will ideally have strong computer skills using student management systems for accessing and updating information such as attendance, good standing, risk management planning, uniforms and wellbeing/pastoral care (Chronicle).

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Maintaining the flow of the College's Wellbeing Hub, responding to student needs and ensuring a calm/organised environment.
* Assisting with student attendance and sign-in/sign-out processes in accordance with College and Departmental procedures.
* Liaising with students, parents/guardians and staff to support routine wellbeing, attendance and pastoral processes.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation using Student Information System (SIS) and Compass platforms.
* Monitoring and actioning attendance-related matters, including unexplained absences, in line with Departmental processes.
* Providing a strong student-reception service, including responding to queries, directing matters to the appropriate staff member.

Applications from proactive, organised and student-centred individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, student-facing environment are encouraged. The ability to build positive rapport with young people and to manage completing priorities is highly regarded. Applicants with experience using Compass, Student Attendance Reporting (SAR) and the Microsoft Office Suite are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please note that this is not a counselling, youth work or intervention type role. The successful applicant should demonstrate compassion, attentive listening and empathy as key skills to support students through routine wellbeing, attendance and administrative processes, while following escalation pathways to refer concerns to the relevant staff member.
