Electrician/Maintenance Officer/Gardener Location (Primary) Dellacourt, Yallaroo or Emily Gardens Facilities Status Full-time, Part-time or Casual Award Lutheran Aged Care, NSWNMA and HSU NSW Enterprise Agreement (As Amended) Reporting to Facility ManagerContractors and other external providers Review AnnualThe Role:The Maintenance Officer/Gardener is responsible for completion of maintenance/handyman and gardening duties for Lutheran Aged Care Albury, as detailed below.Position Objectives:Completion of all maintenance and repair work in a timely and professional manner;Minor building and construction work as directed;To ensure that the grounds of Lutheran Aged Care (LAC) are presented in an optimal manner at all times;To assist with the maintenance and development of gardens as directed;Complete cleaning tasks to ensure LAC grounds are always visually appealing;Undertake mowing, whipper-snipping and edging of grassed areas as required;Provide input into the requirements for the maintenance and repair of equipment;Assist with the LAC weed and pest eradication programs as required;To participate in WH&S programs to ensure that regulatory requirements, risk management, injury management and staff consultation processes are implementedTo follow policies and procedures as detailed in the Quality Manuals.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Good Communication skills (oral and written)YesBasic computer skills - Word processing, and spreadsheet preparationYesDemonstrated understanding of the Aged Care or Health IndustryYesAbility to work with minimum of supervision, organise, set priorities and meet target deadlinesYesExperience in undertaking a broad range of trade/handyman tasks appropriate to qualificationsExperience in maintaining and developing outdoor assetsYesYesQualifications and/or experience in relevant Trade and or garden maintenanceYesAdditional preferred qualifications in:Working at heightsTest and Tag LicenceChemical Users CertificateYesIt is a requirement for this role that the occupant participates in the after-hours on-call roster and possesses a current and valid driver's licence.
